Hundred-Fold-Life-Team: Working By and For Yourself, Can You Manage It?Copyright © Douglas Miller Hundred-Fold-Life http://www.ClixGo.comProbably the biggest challenge for any home based business entrepreneur is not the art of finding financing for the new venture, but instead it is the ability to work solo without anyone there to either guide, mentor, or motivate the person. As a matter of fact, while it is true that many a home business fails for lack of money and income, it is the problem of staying motivated, on top of the game, and always ready and able to meet the obligations of being an entrepreneur on a personal level that presents a big obstacle to obtaining your Hundred-Fold-Life! Sure, at the onset the idea of no longer have to deal with the office gossip, the constant interruptions, and also the crammed office space shared with two or three people might seem like a wonderful solution to all that ails you, but when it comes right down to business, you may find that working by and for yourself is a lot harder and more stressful than you might have had imagined at the onset! As odd as it may sound, working by yourself is a huge distraction many a fresh baked entrepreneur has a hard time dealing with! Each and every sound it amplified; the dripping faucet beckons to be fixed, the dry plants suddenly seem to scream for the attention of the watering can, the little dog who is restfully sleeping might need a walk, and the blank computer screen shows some dust that needs to be removed – together with the dust on any stick of furniture in your home office. Conversely, the inability to let off some steam and vent frustration makes it hard to stay motivated and get in the game of doing things. You may find that it was a lot easier to get your work done in a crammed office where you could let off witty one liners that got a chuckle out of your coworkers than it is to do similar work in the confines of your quiet home where nobody will provide that comic relief or the motivating slap on the back to keep you going for the next round of challenges. Many home based business owners have found that the best way of dealing with the sounds of silence that seem to be so distracting is by turning on the TV or the radio to a station that does not necessarily play anything that is so interesting that it will completely distract you from your work but instead to just provide some background sounds to keep you going and your mind from hearing the little rustles and sounds that might tempt you to neglect your work in favor of housework. I have found it helpful to listen to classical music on a public broadcasting station with no commercials interruptions. The music, with no words or themes to distract me helps to keep me focused on the tasks at hand. In addition to the foregoing, making a daily schedule and then checking off the items you complete as you go is a wonderful motivator to keep right on track! Even as it provides a visible method of checking your daily work progress, it also allows you to ensure that nothing goes by the wayside – and should you meet your daily objectives early, why not reward yourself with a long lunch, workout, or an early quitting time? Keeping to a work schedule with proper time management helps to ensure that your home based business will be a success. Remember your WHY for having your own business and the rewards that living a Hundred-Fold-Life bring to you and your family. H-F-L-Team: New Ad Tracking & Split Testing SystemCopyright © Douglas Miller Hundred-Fold-Life http://www.ClixGo.comH-F-L-Team: New Ad Tracking & Split Testing System What ads work and which don't, Where are my sales coming from? Both good and questions that need answered to have a successful website. Let's look at a brick and mortar business for an example. We'll use a pizza parlor. If you were to run an ad for a sale and you sent out coupons for 1/2 price pizza you would want them sent to homes that are in the neighborhood and the close surrounding area. It would make no sense to send them to the North side of town if the pizza parlor was on the South end of town. Pretty simple. With your website it is a bit different because you may be able to sell and ship word wide. But if you don't, and just concentrate say on North America you may not want to send ads to Europe. Knowing which ads work is also important. Again using the pizza parlor for example you want to test the ads to see what pulls the most sales. Sometimes a small change in wording can make a big difference. So you will know if saying "Pizza 1/2 price or 50% off" works better. Color and format of the ad can also effect the pulling power of an ad. Test those two ads are simple for the pizza parlor you just run them back to back and add up the sales from each. But how do you do that with an Internet business? My partner Frank Bauer's, latest service site is one great way to do just that. When I saw it, I snatched it up right away. Frank calls it the Add2it Go-To System... the one-stop ads, visitors, clicks, actions & sales conversion tracking & split testing solution. All the top marketers use this to double, triple and quadruple their results... a must have service! I am sure you will agree once you get your hands on it yourself... Why Should You Take Advantage Of The Add2it Go-To System? Here's what makes the Add2it Go-To System such a smart choice... - This system protects all of your affiliate links from commission hijackers! - This system lets you see how well your website or squeeze page converts visitors to sales! - This system lets you easily track, manage and edit hundreds of your promotions! - This system tracks your Return On Investment (ROI) from online as well as offline promotions! - This system doubles, triples and quadruples your conversion rate thanks to the built-in split testing system! If your Hundred-Fold-Life is partly built on a successful website the sales and marketing information of that site are as important as the site itself. Stop wasting time and money on things that don't produce positive results. And this is just the beginning! Learn all by clicking the banner below! H-F-L-Team: Can Your Business Found On The Internet?Copyright © Douglas Miller Hundred-Fold-Life http://www.ClixGo.comThe vehicle that you have chosen to establish your Hundred-Fold-Life is a business on the Internet. That’s great! Now that your new business is up and running and you have a dynamite looking website. If your business is strictly online, it is imperative that you bring visitors to the site in order to make any sales. Whether you are selling products or services, you need visitors, just like traditional brick and mortar retailers need customer count to make any money, online retailers need visitors. The difference is with traditional retailers people might see a sign as they drive down the street on which the business is located. With the Internet, there may be hundreds of thousands of similar businesses they accidentally pass while surfing the Internet. Being found accidentally can be exciting but will hardly be profitable and you will need to take steps to make sure enough people can find you to make keeping the business open worth your time and effort. There are a couple of ways most internet businesses use to improve their chances of being found, including search engine marketing, article marketing and affiliate marketing. While any one method can offer a degree of success, online companies that combine two or more methods often have the most success. However, it all comes down to budget and the amount of sweat equity you have to invest in the business. Search engine marketing is making sure the website is found and indexed by search engines so that when a user enters specific key words into the engine, your website appears close to the top of the rankings. Most of this effort is in how the website is constructed and how appealing it is to search engines. Minor mistakes, as well as changes in search engine algorithms can require changes in the website, but it helps websites be found during a search. Article marketing is part of search engine marketing, but plays more towards attracting human visitors. The website owner writes informative articles about their products or services without being too sales-oriented, providing general information about their product line. They then offer these articles to other websites, free of charge, to help provide useful information to their visitors. A writer's block, containing the website address is included in the article, and must remain part of the article when published for free. When a visitor to the other site reads the article and, if they like what they have read, may be tempted to visit the website linked at the bottom of the article. With some of the distribution services, it is possible for the article to be distributed to thousands of other websites, giving the original site that much more potential to be found through means other than search engines. Affiliate marketing is an agreement you make with other website owners to pay them a percentage of any sales generated by a referral from their website. You create the ads and the owner of the other site places it on their site. When one of their visitors clicks through to your site and makes a purchase, you pay an established commission. This is essentially advertising for free, paying only if you see results. Building your online business along with your Hundred-Fold-Life may need a combination of strategies and I highly recommended it for the best results. There are many companies that will bundle your Website Promotion. Shop around before you chose one. Remember that low price is not always the best deal. H-F-L-Team: Getting Started With Your Home Based BusinessCopyright © Douglas Miller Hundred-Fold-Life http://www.ClixGo.comThere is nothing quite as liberating as listening to the morning traffic report on the radio and knowing that you are not part and parcel of the back up that is currently stretching all the way past the turnpike. Working from home has its distinct advantages and bidding farewell to the rat race and the accompanying traffic rush hour problems is just one of them! Of course when you are getting started with a home based business it may at first appear to be a bit intimidating. After all, you know that any form of business venture requires hard work and dedication in addition to some financial knowledge and savvy, and thus you may at times doubt your ability to not only bring your dream of a Hundred-Fold-Life through a home business ownership to fruition but to also turn the business into a success. Do not fear, while it is true that there is more to starting a home based business than just quitting your corporate job, it is not so complicated as to be an unreachable goal! The main ingredient of any home based business start up is the driving idea; it is the inspiration that provides the starter fuel for you to even consider taking on any obstacle that might come in your way. Once you have this great idea, do not meditate on it or think it out to the last detail! Take action, immediately write down the idea in its purest form. As soon as you have all the details of your idea written down just in the way it came to you, then is the time to refine, think through, consider, and examine the idea from each and every angle. Remember that revision will continue to occur throughout the growth of your business, so don’t get overwhelmed with every detail. It is not at all surprising to learn that many a great home business idea first saw the light of day on the back of a cocktail napkin! Now that you have the idea and what appears to be a workable way of turning it into a reality it is time to consider whether you really have what it takes to make it happen. In some cases it will mean long hours in front of the computer. Are you cut out for this kind of commitment? Additionally, if you are thinking of pursuing your dream of home business ownership full time, do you have the financial wherewithal to not only finance your venture but to also go ahead and meet your other financial obligations until such time that your business starts to turn a profit? If you believe you are ready, willing and able to give it a go, it is high time to consider a business plan and also an advertising scheme that will get out the word about your new business. Similarly, your web presence and any legality will now need to be considered; there is the possibility of needing permits and licenses (depending on the kind of home business you are thinking of running) and you will most certainly want to explore the possibility of incorporating your business. Consider this, people that are smarter than you and also not as smart as you have succeeded in creating a home based business. Your Hundred-Fold-Life and home business is a step by step process. The two biggest mistakes are not taking the first step and then skipping steps. About the Author:Douglas Miller is a retired Fire Service Captain now making a living working at home. H-F-L-Team: Partnerships A Way to Fund Your Business?Copyright © Douglas Miller Hundred-Fold-Life http://www.ClixGo.comFinding money to start a new business can be a job in itself and without many assets that can be used as collateral can be nearly impossible. Many people believe that the only ones who are approved for business start-up funding are those who can show they really do not need it. Banks and other lenders are not going to issue loans for a new business unless it can be proven they are going to get their money back. A thorough and well-thought out business plan is a step in the right direction, but if there is even a slight doubt that the loan can be repaid on time, the majority of lenders are going to turn down most proposals. Many successful businesses tell stories of how they got their business off the ground by maxing out their credit cards and were near bankruptcy before they started making any money. As appealing as the idea of starting a business without going into debt may be, it may not always be possible. So how do you get started on the road to obtaining your Hundred-Fold-Life? One method of obtaining business funding is through the use of partnerships that promise to return the partners' investment based on the success of the business as opposed to a strict timetable. While the persons who join in a partnership for a business start up need to understand there is a good chance they are going to lose their investment, they can also realize they may stand to make a decent return on their money. Essentially, a partnership collects money from all interested parties, based on the viability of the company's business plan. There should be an established target of how much money it is going to take to get the business started and then partners put up a percentage of the money. For example, the company is going to produce and sell widgets, the much maligned but very necessary staple in most households. The plans shows the need for $10,000 and 10 people each put in $1,000 to complete the funding. The plan also shows the widgets will cost $6 each to produce and they will sell for $10 each. The plan states that the first dollar for every widget sold will be returned to the investors on an established schedule, for instance every quarter. Each investor will receive 10 percent, or 10 cents for every widget sold, which translates into 100,000 widgets being sold for the initial investment to be paid off. The time it takes to sell the first 100,000 will need to be outlined in the business plan to make the offer attractive, but the investors will also know that their money will keep coming in long after the initial investment has be recouped. They key to staying on the good side of any partner is to be completely honest and up front about the prospect of making their investment pay off. Many may be willing to wait up to two years before recouping their investment while others may want more input into how the business is operated, hoping to insure they get their money back in a timely manner. I have also helped people start their businesses in a similar manner. I have provided them with “supplies” so the go out and get started with the promise of a return of the same “supplies” retuned when the start making a profit. This is different because I did not make a upfront return but what it did do was increase my business because we are with the same company were it was mutually beneficial for the both of us to succeed. Getting to the point of fully living your Hundred-Fold-Life may take different twists and turns and with the help from others. My personal litmus test for who I enter into a business partnership is “Would I have this person over for dinner with my family? If the answer is “No” then the I do not partner with them. H-F-L Team: How Does MLM Fit Into Your Business Plan?Copyright © Douglas Miller Hundred-Fold-Life http://www.ClixGo.comSome of the most commonly advertised business opportunities are thinly veiled multilevel marketing programs. While multilevel marketing is a legitimate business model, the quality of the individual programs make them suspect from the beginning. Numerous major companies have used this model to great success and have created legions of avid followers however; a few bad apples have spoiled the whole bunch for several others. My Hundred-Fold-Life is build upon a great and ethical MLM business that I am proud to be a part of. My use and belief in the products only strengthens my belief of the company. If you would not use or give a product to a family member of use it yourself don't get involved with that company. In its absolute form, multilevel marketing can provide a great chance for average people with little or no business experience to operate their out distributorship of a quality company without a huge investment in time and money. Essentially, a main company offers individuals the chance to distribute their product or service with commission payments made for every sale. This distributor can also recruit others to joint the program under them and receive a small commission on their sales as well as their own. Typically, with a viable product the level of distributors will only get two or three deep, with commissions cut off once they reach a certain level. In order to increase their earnings, distributors can climb into the higher ranks of management as district or regional directors and in rare cases can move into executive positions, collecting commissions on sales of hundreds of people working under them. Many major companies were able to expand their sales force as well as their sales through the use of independent distributors through multiple levels of marketing and have done so legally for years. Unfortunately for the multilevel marketing industry, as few companies have entered the business with less than legitimate methods in mind. Some companies have required the payment of a sponsorship fee to become a member of their program, which offers no product or service for sale and counts on the cost of the membership for their members to receive a return on their investment. These programs are usually classified as pyramid schemes and are illegal in all states and in most countries. To get around the law that requires these programs to offer something in return for the money received, often sell a program that tells people how to recruit others in order to get their money back. Again, there is no viable product or service being offered for sale and if no one is selling anything, there is no legitimate way to recoup the money invested in the plan. In order to qualify as a legitimate MLM company, there has to be real and viable product or service offered for sale and the distributor should not be forced to pay for more products that can reasonably be expected to be sold in order to be eligible to earn sales commissions. Any program that requires the purchase of their products in order to become a distributor should be looked at with skepticism. Additionally, while many companies do charge an up front fee for training and product demonstrations, the new distributors should be able to see an immediate benefit for the money being charged. If there is nothing tangible in the fee to become a distributing member, chances are it is not a legitimate enterprise. If you want to build your Hundred-Fold-Life using the MLM approach you will need to do your homework. I have fond many good companies and chose the one that best fits me. Check out the local meetings, talk to the people who are involved in the business. They may not want to give you the downside of the company but you will be able to ask yourself "Would I want to be in business with those people?" When you have your answer you will know what to do. H-F-L Team: Succeed In Business Do You Have What It Takes?Unlike the movie Field of Dreams, if you build it they will not necessarily come. It takes a lot of work to run your own business. Getting started on your Hundred-Fold-Life requires a lot of sweat equity and some upfront cash. However, even the best of the business start-ups may not make it if the owner does not have what it takes to successfully operate their own business. Product knowledge is important, but it can also be learned as can much of the software used to operate businesses. There are some personal traits that have to be considered when determining if you have what it takes to operate a successful business. One of the main ingredients is being able to clearly understand the facts surrounding any business decision and being able to base your decision on the facts and not on emotions. Whenever you are faced with a difficult choice, never make the decision without first thinking it through. Knowing whom your decision will affect and how is only part of strategic thinking, but understanding how the end result will affect the business should be the primary decision maker. Dealing with employees or vendors is an area of expertise lacking by many business owners and by not being able to deal professionally with vendors could make getting supplies difficult. They are in business just like you and need your business in order to make money. However, they do not need the additional aggravation that some business owners insist on providing them, and have the option to not sell product to you in the future. Personnel issues are one of the most problematic for many businesses and not being able to deal effectively with employees has caused many of them to close their doors. The number of the people that quit and have to be replaced on a regular basis usually measures ineffective people practices. Some industries are prone to higher turnover rates than others, such as fast-food service and retail cashiers, but even the worst jobs can hold onto their people if the business owners understand and attempts to meet their individual needs. Managing time can be studied to death, but if your not willing to take the steps required to adequately controlling how your time is spent, you will spend most of it trying to catch up with everything going on around you. Stress is another area that business owners are prone to fail and by learning to manage stress as it pops up frequently can help you maintain a professional attitude without causing ill effects on your health or your business. Along with the personal attributes required to be a good business owner and boss, there are some functional matters that will need addressed as well. With or without an education in business processes, understanding the business end of any venture can help you assure those that are performing the job are doing so without costing you a lot of money. Losses are normal in most businesses, but controlling them is the responsibility of the business owner. Your success in business depends on educating yourself. Read, listen to CDs whatever it takes to gain knowledge about your chosen business. This will set you on the right path to obtaining your Hundred-Fold-Life. H-F-L-Team: Closing The Door On Home Office DistractionsCopyright © Douglas Miller Hundred-Fold-Life http://www.ClixGo.comOne of the key attributes of any home office is going to be a door that closes. When working at home there are going to be interruptions, some of them may even be welcome, but repeated distractions will only serve to keep you from the task at hand and prevent you from being the best you can be. Regardless of the industry in which you are involved, if you cannot spend the time working without interruptions, it will be difficult to keep your mind on the job and slow your progress on achieving your Hundred-Fold-Life. There may be some people that thrive on chaos in the work place, but the vast majority requires concentration in order to get their work done in a timely manner. When you work for yourself in your own home office, there will not be anyone reminding you of things that need to be done or to give you a little nudge toward an approaching deadline. You are going to be the only thing standing in the way of your own success. Allowing your day to be disrupted will not help you on the way to success. Family can provide the most distractions when you work at home and while they may claim they understand how important it is for you to dedicate time to your job, they really see you as being home and available any time of the day. The tough part is going to be convincing them that although you are at home, you are still working. The saying of out of sight, out of mind needs to be considered; especially of you are just beginning to work at home. Most families would never consider going to your place of employment and asking various questions or wanting you to take care of some household chore in the middle of the day. However, they have no qualms about walking into your home office and interrupting your work. In some cases it may be nice to have a little distraction in the middle of a complex project, but interruptions on a regular basis can quickly become a hindrance to getting the project completed. If it is possible to set up your home office in a spare room that has a door, you may want to keep the door closed when you are working on something that requires your undivided attention. The door can be a sign to the rest of the family that when it is closed, you are not available for anything that does not pertain to you home-based-business. When you have time to welcome distractions, you can open the door and the family knows you can take some time from work to spend with them if needed. Seeing and being with your family more is one of the reasons that you have chosen to have a home business and that’s great, but remember you need to get the work done. If not you will find yourself back to the old grind and robbing yourself of your Hundred-Fold-Life. Once you have established you work schedule, you will find fewer interruptions will come from family and friends and you might be able to open the door during the day again. However, if it becomes too distracting, even with the door closed, perhaps a guard dog can be trained to sit outside your home office door as a determent to possible distractions. H-F-L-Team: Can Affiliate Marketing Really Pay The Bills?Copyright © Douglas Miller Hundred-Fold-Life http://www.ClixGo.comThere is a lot of talk on the Internet about the benefits of affiliate marketing and the amount of money to be made. Can this be the answer to your Hundred-Fold-Life? You can sell products for other companies without the need to handle any of the business of collection or shipping or even warehousing the merchandise. All you have to do is post their ads on your website and the business will take care of itself and the money will start rolling into your bank account. There are even some companies that will establish a website with your name on it to help you get started in business for yourself. The thing to remember is that this type of program does not allow you to own your own business. It will still be their website and their business. The only thing you will own is the investment you make in advertising the site. If done correctly, you can make money but chances are you are going to be competing with thousands, if not millions of others who have the same thing in mind. In order to truly make money from affiliate marketing you are going to need your own website and more than one affiliated company from which you can make a commission on any sales that stem from your site. With the ones that sponsor you, there is no way to add additional companies to the site and all of your efforts will benefit only that company. If it goes out of business or develops a bad reputation, your business is over. I have found a few that you can combine the two different types of sites. I use one that does you can check it out by clicking my information at the end of this article. With your own website, you can pick and choose what companies are represented on your site and the type of ads you place there. If one does not produce the income you are looking for it can be replaced by another one that will. Consider the possibility of owning your own cyber shopping mall. Sometimes referred to as a portal, you can name your mall and join hundreds of affiliate programs in numerous categories. A one-stop shopping center for internet shopping that you can advertise in a variety of places and in different media. When visitors arrive at your mall, they can choose the type of merchandise they are looking for and buy from one of the store in your mall. Whether they want car parts, appliances, clothing or even cookies they can find an affiliated company from which to buy and you pick up a few bucks on every purchase made. If you do have a passion for a certain type of activity and products that support that activity you may want to start there. Your knowledge of that product line will keep it more interesting and fun for you. I find that if I am representing products and services that I use increase your success in obtaining your Hundred-Fold-Life. Individually, the stores may not offer mega-commissions, but the total of all commissions from all stores can quickly add up to big bucks. Diversity in the online stores can also keep the money flowing regardless of the time of year and by keeping the ads updated through the seasons can improve the income level. The key to making money with affiliate marketing is advertising your site. Remember a business without a sign is a sign of no business. You must advertise. It will not matter the quality of the affiliate programs or their merchandise if no one visits your shopping mall. Keeping your site clean, crisp and advertised will keep visitors coming back and help you become a successful affiliate marketing mall owner. H-F-L-Team: Business Plans: The Art of the Website (part II)Copyright © Douglas Miller Hundred-Fold-Life http://www.ClixGo.comWelcome back. In this part I will go into some of the more technical aspects of building your website. The ultimate part of the development of the online business website is the site plan. This depicts the visual representation of the site, from beginning to end, showing style, color, and down to precise detail as necessary. Since this part illustrates the businesses logo and image, the website must be well thought out and established before it is launched so it can be viewed by the public and other professionals. The tree plan is probably the most common schematic implemented for the development of the website. This shows every page of the site and how each one will look down to the colors, styles, icons, menus, etc. A line to the other pages of the site to which it is linked connects each page. This layout helps the online business owner (and the web designer, if one is hired) review what is expected. Sometimes it changes, other times it doesn't. When it does, the tree plan is redesigned for another review, and this process continues until the visual depiction resembles the final result. This is necessary so when the construction of the site commences, the tree plan is used as the guide. When being build, each page is done separately, starting with the homepage, which should link to every other page associated with the site. This page displays every feature involved, as well as denotes the purpose of various other pages. If any of those secondary pages were to be done first, holes might sometimes form. This is why the plan must be set out in exact detail beforehand. Yes, the existence of this tree plan would allow the designer to do the pages of the site in any order, but it's always easier, appropriate and logical to do construct the home page first. After all, those who are to use the benefits of the site by starting at the home page, so why shouldn't the designer? As each page is completed, its links to the homepage and other connected pages are activated through administrative processes, usually using a hypertext language, such as HTML or PHP-two of the most commonly used in web design-to virtually "spell" out everything involved on the page. HTML, the basis of all hypertext languages, features every item and/or motion on the page in coded version and marked up one at a time. "opened" and "closed" symbols must both be inserted for each action, and each of those actions will work only when "opened" and "closed." If one symbol of sign is left out, the action will not work. For example, " and " refer to bolds, whereas " " and " indicate italics. The first is planted just before the first word to be affected by the action, and the latter directly after the last word. This is a simple but time-consuming process that requires a knowledge and skill for everything to work properly. Once all the hypertext is in place and all the links active (included email and registration and subscription interactives), and each page is loaded up into an online host, the website will be ready to be used by others. This is the basic process of site construction, although more is involved. If everything is correctly and carefully conducted, the online business will definitely be on its way. As you can see it does get a bit complicated in areas. I have always relied on a good website builder product to help build my sites. In the end it was well worth the money to have a good looking and running site. Whatever you choose good luck and stay committed to your Hundred-Fold-Life.
