Depending on the kind of person you are, plans for things are going to be either completely familiar to you, somewhat familiar to you, or not at all familiar to you. While it is not necessary to have a completely detailed business plan before you start (especially if your business is online, but also if it happens to be offline), there are some things that you should generally be aware of at the very least before you start towards building up your business, and Hundred-Fold-Life.
The first of those things has to do with figuring out the topic that your business is going to be on. This is not a topic in terms of something that a book needs to have, but rather a topic in terms of what your business is going to be about. For example, if a person wanted to open a restaurant, then there would be a culinary topic to their business. If someone wanted to blog, then the topic would be whatever he or she wanted to blog about. There are a number of different topics available out there today and choosing one for your business is perhaps the most important thing you can plan ahead of time.
Now, when most people are choosing the topic of their business, they tend to use one of two methods. They will either choose a business topic that they are very familiar with, love doing and would really have no problem doing for free, or alternatively they will choose a business topic that they think would generate a lot of interest in the demographics that they can reach. If you are on the internet, then the demographic you can reach is endless, whereas if you are off the internet, then you need to be aware of the people that live near wherever your business happens to be.
While these two methods of business topic choosing both have their ups and their downs, neither one is inherently better than the other. There are certain situations (i.e. blogging for a profit) where one might be obviously indicated as being the better one, but for the most part you can get along choosing either of those two things.
That idea brings us to the big question; how do you know which one of the two methods you should choose? Well, it once again depends on the type of person you are. If you are a free spirit, not really interested in too much planning and willing to take a chance just to see where it takes you, then choosing something that appeals to you and that you would do for free might be the way to go. If you are the meticulous type and are good at keeping things organized, then it would seem that going for the more likely profit would be a better idea. It largely depends on you and while neither of the two choices is wrong, it is very important that you are confident in the choice you make.
Make your choice; it is one of the first steps to living your Hundred-Fold-Life.

I love this time of year, the weather is changing, football is starting and the rush is on.
What Rush?
This is the time of year after the summer slow down that internet, and retail sales take off. As we build toward the holiday season more customer are ready to buy.
It is also to a good time to brush up on your skill and learn new ones. I have. I just learned a new focus or skill with
Selling is 85% emotional and 15% logical. Forget everything you've been taught about selling and forget the hardsell, forget negotiation strategies, forget those closing techniques. In The Inner Game of Selling, Ron Willingham debunks the familiar myths about "sales skills," showing that those tired methods are too shallow and manipulative to do anything but alienate potential customers and drain you of energy and dignity.

Focus on Home-Based-Business
Home-based businesses are not just small versions of big marketing conglomerates. They are faced with totally different issues, problems, and opportunities requiring specific skills and tactics. For us in Home-Based-Marketing it is great information.
As I have stated in the past Audio Books are one of my favorite training tools. I can use them in the car, on lunch break or while in on the stationary bike at the gym. It’s all about time management.
These are my Hundred-Fold-Life recommendations for this week.
Enjoy!

Studies have shown that the average person receives about 40 e-mails a day. I know mine are at least twice that amount.
When you are running your home-based business time management is important. Often you are the CEO and clerk. You do it all.
One of the most important tools and time waster in your business is e-mail. We all need it we all use it. The trick is to keep e-mail from over running your time.
What to do?
I have set up different e-mail accounts for different needs. I have one that is only for non-business related items. This e-mail address is the one that I give friends and family members to use. I know what they send me is not going to be time sensitive. I f something important happens or needs immediate attention they will call on the phone.
I also have an e-mail account for work related items. This one I use for an overall catchall for my business. I will also set up special e-mail account for specific projects that I’m working on. That way I know what they are responding to and for what reason. I have an account that I use when I respond to special offers or e-newsletters. This way I keep e-mail separated and more manageable.
Use “Preferences” to manage each account.
Now put technology to work for you. Go into the “preferences” or “set-up” for each account. And apply the “junk-mail” settings and other filters that will help cut down on unnecessary e-mail. Check out all the tools, many can make managing your account easer. One more trick is to turn off any audio notification that you have new mail. It is just a distraction that will make you want to check it now.
Time management for e-mail.
One way I make the best of my time is to devote specific times and amounts of time to read and respond to e-mails. I divide the workday into three times to address my e-mail. I will check it first in the morning when I start my day. Then midday and then at the end of my workday, I will look at it again. I devote fifteen minutes to a half hour to each time. I stay on schedule; if I don’t it will just through off my other tasks that need to be done.
My 3 “Ds” To decision making.
Delete it: You know within three seconds if you need to respond to e-mail. Don’t linger over it Delete It.
Do it now: If you need to respond to it, do it right away. Don’t wait that just puts the work off and you may not get back to it until it’s too late.
Defer it: If the task takes to long to address it right away defer it. A good way is to use a folder within your e-mail account. You must remember to schedule time to address that folder.
Managing your work time is an important tool in living your Hundred-Fold-Life.

Tools one of the most important devices that separate us from the animals. We all know that dolphins are intelligent creatures. But how many roads or hospitals or anything have they built?
Tools we must have them to build a house. Training we need to know how to use the tools. We need the plans to build the house. We need to learn about resources and what materials work best for the region in which we plan to build.
I believe we call all agree in principle to the above assertions. Then I ask you why do some people think that they can start a business or home business without the right tools?
Many do and most fail.
Without the proper tools, training and resources is no way to start living your Hundred-Hold-Life.
Most of us start on a shoestring budget. We know we need help, but we often don’t know were to get it or we plow through the tons of offers on the net hoping to find the answers.
Most of the time the offers are junk or out dated and we just spent money on them that we really can’t afford.
What if I could show you a Treasure Chest Of Tools?
Programs and services to help you start grow and succeed.
Plan Your Business:

Start Your Business:

Manage Your Business:

That my friend is the short list, there is more, too much to list.
Okay I know what your thinking.
How much is this going to cost?
What if I told you nothing, zip, nada.
You would then think, what’s the up sell?
Same answer, nothing, zip, nada.
To be more precise you have already paid for it. You see what I am presenting is information that you can get from going to www.sba.gov
That’s right the Small Business Administration. It is f*r*e*e to use for all of us. In my humble opinion we pay a lot of taxes and here we can get some great information from the government.
Why am I doing this?
For one reason I have seen online offers that repackage this information and sell it. I just find that wrong.
The second reason: I do sell great products for home business “you can check them out at www.ClixGo.com” but I believe the more you know the better my offers look. If they are not right for you that is OK, your Hundred-Fold-Life may involve a different path.
We live in the great country full of opportunity, my best customers are out there, and so are yours.

The business plan is the guide to your business. It is a blue print to achieving your Hundred-Fold-life. According to experts, the business plan is one of the most important tools when it comes to setting up a new business or expanding an old business. People who formulated business plans before they start their business generally have higher rates of success as compared to those people who just jump into a business opportunity without really bothering to find out what they are up against.
Writing business plan is not really as mind boggling as building a rocket ship that will travel to Mars in just a few days. In fact, anybody who is inclined into business can come up with his or her own simplified business plan. As long as the entrepreneur knows what he or she wants and have some ideas on how he or she will achieve his or her goal, he or she can already come up a simplified business plan.
What should the business plan contain?
A business plan should include an executive summary which give a very short description the content of the business plan, a description of the company and its operations, the market analysis, the strategies of implementing the business, a profile of the management team and a detailed financial plan. A comprehensive business plan could reach up to several pages. In fact, business plans for big companies and organizations could well reach over a hundred pages depending on the complexities of its operations and other factors. Note that big business that are operating several plants all over the country need to create a plan that will encompass the operations of the all the segments of the business so normally these companies will have some voluminous documents as part of their business plan.
Business Plan for the new Home Business Owner.
Start simple. Define your goals. Make them measurable. You maybe not writing them for investors, but for yourself. They are just as important if your were writing them for a large corporation. You are the most important shareholder that you know. But you must have the attitude that you are writing them for thousands of shareholders. Define your work schedule. Define your goals. Define how you will achieve them. Review them often. Check if you are on target.
The Financial Plan
According to experts, the financial plan is one of the most important parts of the business plan. Under the financial plan, the expenses for business operations, the cash flow, sales and other financial aspects of the business will be presented. The figures in the financial plan will be based on sound assumptions. When we say sound assumptions, we mean that the figures that are used in the projected financial statements are results of extensive research and price analysis.
Investors will most likely go directly to the financial plan when reading to through the business plan and the business strategies. These parts of the document will tell them how profitable the business can be and what are the possible improvements that can be introduced to make the business more profitable. From the financial plan, the investors can already gauge as to whether or not the business is worth their money or not. In most cases, if the financial plan is not properly laid out or if the financial plan is bloated, the investors will shy away from the business.
Don’t skip this step. It is a must do to achieving your Hundred-Fold-Life.

It’s new to me but I know that I must learn about it and be able to utilize it in the near future. Just as some people in the resent past wrote off the Internet as a fad. Some are saying the same about ipod marketing. Not me I think that I am a playing catch-up in that arena of marketing my home business.
Did you know that 100 million ipods have been purchased?
We all know that 100 million is a big number. To put it perspective here is a short list of what a One Million is in time.
One million seconds is equal to 11 days, 20 hours, 4 minutes and 4 seconds. One million-minutes is equal to 1 year, 345 days, 4 hours, 4 minutes precisely. One million-hours is equal to 114 years, 28 days and 16 hours i.e. Victorian age.
Do you think having access to 100 million potential customers is a healthy market to go after?
Yea I do too.
So what am I doing to learn?
I have been reading, searching the Internet for information, talking to friends and business associates that are knowable about the subject.
I have found an avalanche of information, as you might have guessed. I have taken hours of research to narrow it all down. One name that keeps popping up is Paul Colligan. He has been referred to as Paul “Mr. Podcast” Colligan.
Paul Colligan is CEO of Colligan.com Inc. and owner of several popular Internet properties that include The My Podcast Center Podcast Directory, FrontPage World, Automate Sales, Podcast Tools, and Premium Podcasting. His Passion: the Business of Podcasting.
Paul produces a number of Podcasts that include (but are not limited to) Marketing Online Live, Podcast Tools Weekly Update, Paul's Profitable Podcasting Podcast, and Big Seminar Live. He is also the author of many books on the Internet and co-author of The Business Podcasting Bible with Alex Mandossian.
Mr. Colligan has played a key role in the launch of dozens of financially successful Web sites and Internet marketing strategies that have seen tens of millions of visitors and millions of dollars in revenue. Previous projects have included work with Peak Potentials, InternetMCI, the Oregon Multimedia Alliance, Rubicon International, Microsoft, the Electronics Boutique, and Pearson Education.
He has earned my Hundred-Fold-Life recommendation.
I like to use audio books for the simple convenience of having it in the car and on my ipod. I can best utilize my time by listening to it when I drive or stop for coffee. Were as reading a book is not always an option.

When you have a business, one of the first decisions that you are going to have to make is where you want the business to be based. Lots of people start with the business in their homes, and then move somewhere else as their business grows and expands. This is often a good idea because as the business grows and expands, there are new things that can be done with more space. This means that as your business gets bigger, you might want to move to a bigger space, so that your business can flourish and continue to do so.
One of the questions you are going to have to ask is whether you would like to buy a building or rent. There are many suggestions that say that both of these are good ideas, but there are a few reasons that you might want to consider buying a place over renting a place.
The first reason that buying a place is a good idea is that you are going to be able to simply make payments on the building in the same way that you would be paying rent, yet the payments are actually going to be going towards owning the building. This is often the route that people go. When they look into a building for their business, they take out a loan to buy the building. Usually, they can find a way to pay about what they would be paying in rent, but have this money go towards paying back the loan. This is a great way to gain property and also to gain assets.
The other reason you might want to buy a building for your business is that when you buy a building, that means that it is yours, and you can do whatever you want to it. When you rent, you have to talk to the landlord about changing the carpet or fixtures or even painting the walls. This means that you are going to have to be under someone else’s control when it comes to these things, and it might be that you wan to control them for yourself. If you buy the building, you can feel free to do whatever you want with it. Because many businesses thrive on people coming to the store and being at their establishment, you can feel free to change the building in any way so that your customers will feel more comfortable and will be more happy when they are there, and therefore they’ll be more likely to buy things. You are able to give the place your personal signature. Also, if you purchase a building for your business, it means that no matter what happens, you have that building. If you decide not to have your business anymore, you can sell the building and hopefully you will be able to make a profit on it.
Remember the road to your Hundred-Fold–Life is a process, renting first may be the right choice and them moving on to purchasing the perfect building for your business.

I’ll highlight a few for you. About 78 million were born during the post-war boom years of 1946 – 1964. They total one –third of the adult population. The 50 to 65 age group is exploding in growth. The oldest boomers turned 60 in 2006 and more than 10,000 turn 50 each day. Boomers control some 70 percent of all U.S. assets.
Do you think they would be a good group to market to? I think the answer is an obvious yes.
But why, let’s look closer.
They have money and they spend it. In general as theses folks aged they have accumulated more wealth. They have received more paychecks, paid down or off their mortgages. Reduced debt. They are retiring and are looking to enjoy the rest of their lives with the money that they have saved or are receiving from their pensions. They are ready to live their Hundred-Fold-Lives. Baby Boomers don’t want to be old. They don’t want to act, feel or look old. They don’t perceive themselves as old or ageing.
What can your home business sell Boomers?
They like to travel. An online travel agency that caters to their needs would be a winner. They need and want digital cameras, ipods, mp3 players, luggage, clothes; the list goes on and on. Do you sell those items? Could you offer special deals to 55 and older crowd?
Remember Baby Boomers want to stay young.
Do you sell health related products or services? Exercise equipment, vitamins/supplements, skin care/cosmetics and information relating to those products. Can you add those services or products to you existing line? Have you considered becoming an affiliate to those sorts of products?
Are you out of luck because you sell baby or children related products?
Heck no!
Baby Boomers are becoming grandparents. They are going to be buying quality gifts like that Eddie Bauer stroller for junior, and all the other needs and wants for their grandkids.
New magazines such as “eldr” and “Grand” (“ the official magazine of grandparents”) and social networking site like tbd.com and Eons.com are aggressively going after the Boomer dollar. Can you link your site or advertise with them?
Okay let’s review. There are millions of Baby Boomers. Boomers have money lots of it. They are willing to spend it on quality products and services, for themselves and family. You have a home-based business and need customers. Yes, 1+1 sill equals 2.
Go and service them they are a great resource in building your Hundred-Fold-Life.

Today we are going to discusss Three must haves on your website for your business. Theses are often very obvious key components. Some people miss adding them or don’t realize how important they are.
The websites that I am focusing on deal with sites for brick and mortar businesses. Such as restaurants, beauty salons/spas, Auto repair shops, retailers of all kinds. The tips can also relevant for other types of sites. Check through them and see if they can improve your site.
Okay let’s start.
One big must is your contact information. Would you take out an ad in the yellow pages and not put in your phone number and address? Of course you wouldn’t. But often on websites they omit it or hide it. What you want to do is have that information be very visible. You want your customers to be able to contact you.
Now a word of caution if you have a way for customers to email, “Which is recommended” you must return the email promptly. Think of it as you would your business phone, you would always answer the phone and return calls right? So do it with your email.
For many people that use a computer most of the day it can be one of their primary sources of communicating. Have a way so that when they send the email yours will automatically respond back with a message. Such as “thank you for your inquiring we will get back to you within 24 hours”. I f you give them a time “shorter the better” be sure to do it. People will shy away from a business that can’t keep a simple promise.
Capture their name and email. Ask if they would like to be added to your sales, special promotions, or newsletter, whatever fits your business.
Next up Information.
People are looking at your site for information. Studies show that when people call a restaurant they are asking for location, hours, directions and prices. So give it to them in a place on your site that is easy to find.
Post your menu and prices. I f you own a watch or shoe repair shop state prices for your service. People are shopping/looking for this information. Place your location and directions on home page. Include mapping like Google Maps so they can get directions. Remember state your hours of service. If you have parking challenges give your customers tips on where to park.
Last but not least. Photos.
Photos are very important to the success of your site and business. People love to look at pictures. Remember the saying “A picture is worth a thousand words”. Its true. So show off your business. A photo of the storefront puts a visual into the customer’s head, so as they drive down the street it will trigger a memory and help with locating your business.
I f you have a restaurant have photos of your food. For a beauty salon/spa show the inside and those comfortable chairs your clients will be using. Take pictures of your friendly staff and owners. Show people that “hey you will enjoy being here”. Photo will help create a connection between your business and customers.
I hope this has been helpful and informative in your journey to fulfilling you Hundred-Fold Life.
